Greetings from the Principal,

Savitribai Phule Mahila Mahavidyalaya,Satara. SPMM is a premier educational institution established by Rayat Shikshan Sanstha Satara in the year 1989, affiliated to Shivaji University, Kolhapur. Its student culture is as vibrant as its history is rich being a part of Rayat family. Padmbhushan Dr.Karmveer Bhaurao Patil, was a visionary, a philanthropist and had a vision for common people’s education. He saw education as an exercise in aiding the nation’s Educational, Social and Economical growth. We have come a long way from those early years of the establishment. Today, Rayat Shikshan Sanstha has a leading place in Educational Sector of Asian Continent. The college was established for women from rural area nearby Satara who don’t have an access of higher education, which was started with near about 25 students and at present has 1160 students are enrolled. The College takes efforts to provide skill-based education along with the higher education. It provides UG And PG (Economics)Courses in Arts, UG and PG in Commerce ,BCA, and B. Voc. in Nursing. More than 25 short-term courses are run by the college and some are run successfully in collaborations of management, and other largest and internationally known Companies such as: BOSCH, TCS, Mahindra Pride etc. In the present academic year, College runs 05 Skill-based courses under PANTPRADHAN KOUSHLYA YOJANA, with these course 300 students are benefitted.

Even in universally challenging period of COVID-19, SPMM has emerged as a beacon of excellence. We have maintained, even adapted well, to the new conditions of online teaching. SPMM has produced several university meritorious students from different departments .The students have won several national and international awards in Chess and sports and cultural competitions at university to international level. Some students have been placed at different institution, companies and civil services. We also offered generous financial aid in the form of scholarships and free ships to the students.. Students, in the course of their study, come across several outreach programmes that give them access to transform lives and the world around them. The institute has its own infrastructure with all modern amenities and green and clean campus. We have ICT-enabled classrooms, seminar halls, well-equipped ladies gymnasium, Computer Labs, Library with NRC and Reading Room, Hostel with all essential facilities, Language and Nursing Laboratories. Our faculty is trained from some of the best places and update themselves consistently. We continued to hold numerous workshops, national Seminars and online sessions during the pandemic to avoid the academic loss. Workshops were also organized for teachers on the use of online platforms for teaching including Google Meet and Google Classroom. We all are taking hard efforts with the mutual cooperation of all stakeholders. Endeavors to be the best human being while foraying in the competitive life are taken by everyone, which has given the SPMM its own identity. I extend warm wishes to all the students for their success in future and thankfulness towards all known and unknown well-wishers and supporter of the college.
